We are excited to announce the exhibition “Ancestral Blues – Return to The State of L3” at Framer Framed (in the Tolhuistuin)!

OPENING: Wednesday September 16th, 18:00
With an introduction by Leo Balai, historian and author of ‘Het slavenschip Leusden’.

Curated by Vincent van Velsen, featuring works by the Amsterdam chapter of the international artist collective The State of L3:

Femi Dawkins,
Raquel van Haver,
Antonio Jose Guzman,
Amanda Koelman,
Fleur Ouwerkerk

On show from: Sept 16th – Oct 11th, Wed-Sun 14:00-22:00h

The exhibition centers on the themes of migration, exchange, transformation and DNA. Leading up to the exhibition, the artists received coaching and workshops by Shaheen Merali.

During the opening, everyone is welcome from 6 PM for an introduction to the exhibition in presence of the artists and curator, followed by celebratory drinks.

Opening this same evening at Framer Framed: Common Ground, part of Unseen Photo Fair Amsterdam #unseen2015

Connected to and alongside the exhibition Ancestral Blues, we are also featuring a selection of photographs in the downstairs hallway, as part of Unseen Photo Fair Amsterdam. This exhibition, called Common Ground, features photographs by both The State of L3 and photographer Charl Landvreugd.
