“More than 15 years passed since I chose to live as a stranger in a land far from where I was born and lived. The size of the cultural difference between Japan and Brazil is easily explained by the fact that makes the day one side while the other night. In principle, this difference was that attracted me so much even made me take root in this land.

well as the difference for any tourist looking abroad aroused in me and got me interested in photography. In the beginning, there were regional elements such as folklore, backcountry or Carnival that took my focus. Photographing these issues was a process of confirming the Brazilianness with their own eyes.
With the passage of time has improved my ability Portuguese language. But even after 15 years does not reach the level of the natives (which can make a bid for die laughing at a joke). Be slightly disappointed by my own language learning recognized on the photo opportunity as a means of communication. Since then, more than capture the decisive moment, my interest is in communicating with others through photography and hold a word (with an accent) mouth.

Today, more than differences, subjects interest me primordial common between me and others. For in commonality believe can create two-way dialogues, ie, communications that do not end only in expressing from one side to another. Reaching this point of view is only able ataravés living in São Paulo, the most cosmopolitan city in the world in my opinion. For this reason I consider myself a photographer paulistano despite being a Japanese naturalness”.
